Construction prices October 2017

The price index for buildings and low-income housing registered interannual variations of 7.34% and 5.19%, respectively, in October 2017.

The price indexes based on February 2012 are composed of twenty-one statistical indicators, which measure the variation in the prices of the materials used in the construction of different types of works. They are composed of the price index of buildings, the index of prices of affordable housing, and a group of nineteen indexes of prices of inputs and special services.


In October 2017, the variations of each of these price indices are:

Building price index (percentage variations October 2017)
  • Monthly: 0.28% (October 2017)
  • Year-on-year: 7.34% (November 2016 to October 2017)

The level of the building price index is 105,375, while in the previous month it was 105,084. The elements that show a greater positive contribution in the monthly variation of October of 2017 are: copper cable and terrazzo.

Index of prices of low-income housing (percentage variations October 2017)

  • Monthly: 0.46% (October 2017)
  • Year-on-year: 5.19% (November 2016 to October 2017)

The level of the price index of affordable housing is 105,310, while in the previous month it was 104,823. The elements that show a greater positive contribution in the monthly variation of October of 2017 are: blocks and wood form.
