With the implementation of the commercial license process, the time to formalize a company in the cantons of Abangares, Cañas, Tilarán, Bagaces, Liberia and La Cruz was reduced from 40 to 7 days.
A statement the Ministry of Economy explained that in addition to the reduction in the time that takes the process to formalize a company, the time to manage the process to obtain construction permits was  also improved.

Until a few months ago, obtaining a commercial license and building permit in these cantons implied that citizens had to complete multiple procedures, requirements and go through different institutions several times before obtaining the coveted endorsement to start their projects.
In the case of Commercial License

• the requirements were reduced from 27 to 12, 
• the creation of a single form and a single window in each municipality was achieved (avoiding visits to several institutions), 
• the preparation of procedures manuals and guidelines for users and the establishment of a regional improvement committee to ensure the sustainability of the project over time

In addition, the Local Governments agreed to use as the only means to manage the Construction Permits, the "Construction Project Manager (APC)", reaching a 58% reduction to obtain the permit, thanks to the support of the Federated College of Engineers and Architects.
